Worship

|
The Bible states that true worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Therefore, we must follow the commands and examples in the Bible so that we can worship in spirit and in truth. We have commands and examples to show that preaching, singing, contributing, praying, and partaking of the Lord's Supper on the first day of the week (Sunday) are acts of worship.
Acts 2:42 |
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. |
Acts 20:7 |
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. |
1 Corinthians 14:15 |
...I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. |
1 Corinthians 16:1,2 |
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I
come. |
