Recently, I heard a mattress advertisement on the radio. After speaking of
its quality, the salesman reminded everyone that now "you and your sleep partner
can rest in comfort."
Perhaps this may appear as much ado about nothing, but the ad seemed to go
out of its way to accommodate homosexuals, unmarried people, and others who are
committing fornication when they sleep together. The ad did not say, "you and
your spouse," or "you and your mate, or marriage partner," but it spoke of your
"sleep partner."
To accommodate "sleep partners" who are not married, we hear of some
Hollywood harlot and her "significant other." Immoral tomcats are pictured in
popular magazines with some woman with whom they live who is identified as the
actor's "main squeeze." (Translation: Though he sleeps with others, she is the
one he sleeps with most often, hence, his "main squeeze.")
Sadly, many are going to be lost forever in a devil's hell because of the
casual, cavalier attitude they have with respect to holy and godly living. "For
this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person...has an
inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no man deceive you with empty
words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of
disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them....For it is disgraceful
even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret" (Eph. 5:5-12).
